General Info:
The Detroit Milner Hotel, at
Centre St. and John R St.in downtown Detroit is one of the stately
buildings in Detroit and is one of the "boutique" properties
operated by Milner Hotels. The hotel features many large suites, new
deluxe rooms and many new single or double guest rooms that include
a complimentary breakfast.
Review: Oct. 6, 2005 After
seeing some of the reviews on this site I was a bit hesitant about
staying at the Milner, but it turned out to be not that bad. The Milner
is an old hotel and like many older big city hotels, the rooms are
small and obviously past their prime. If this is a problem for you
I would say stay away, but if you are looking for cheap accomodations
in a great location The Milner is a fine choice. As mentioned the
rooms were small and old, but the furnishings were nice and they were
clean. The location if fantastic as you are within walking distance
of both Comerica Park (detroit tigers) and Ford Field (detroit lions)
as well as The Fox Theater, State Theater and Hockey Town Cafe. The
people mover is right there too which gives you access to Greektown,
Casinos and Joe Luis Arena. Our room looked right out over the outfield
of Comerica Park which was nice. The price can't be beat as we got
rooms for under $60. The bottom line is if you don't mind an old hotel
that is very average, but with a cheap price and great location The
Milner is for you. I would stay there again.
Review: July 20, 2005 I cannot believe that Hotel.com would
list The Milner Hotel in Detroit Michigan to choose from, to stay
in Detroit....The WORST Hotel I have ever and probable will ever stay
in. Unfortunatly I had to stay 1 night, worst night of my life!
