Review: Sept. 3, 2005 My husband and I just stayed there when we went to "The Rolling Stones"Concert.I read a lot of good things on this website and Holiday Inns are usually nice.We were very pleased with everything. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast they served was very nice.We walked to "Comerica Park"-4 blocks away and walked back after the concert. We did eat at the Washington Grille attached to the hotel. It was okay.Comerica Park is a great ballpark.I would stay at this hotel again.

Review: Aug. 22nd, 2005 I have not stayed at an Holiday Inn in many years and first was going with a 4 star downtown hotel. I read the reviews on this one, which was better than most of the 4 star hotels at a much higher priced and decided to give it a try. I was not expecting much and was totally surprised. The front desk was not big and fancy but the service was prompt and friendly. My room was small but more than enough room for 1-2 people, very clean with nice furniture ( looked fairly new), a good bed and relatively new bathroom. The hotel had a free continental breakfast in the morning; which was a nice touch. The location was perfect to all the activities I attended. The convention center was several blocks away, the stadium about the same in a different direction, Hart Plaza which was having a great festival that weekend, all the casinos and Greektown were all either a easy walk or no more than a $5 or $6 dollar taxi ride. ( also the people mover was one block away) The hotel is in an area that is being renovated so there is not a lot of foot traffic, but it felt very comfortable walking in the daytime and early evening. I would not walk around any inner city after dark alone. Dollar for dollar this is a great find. Another bonus if you are interested in casinos, Motor City casino has a shuttle that picks up from there (one of the few downtown locations). I was traveling alone and a fairly fussy person. I would definitly come back to this hotel. For $104.00 a night you can't beat it. (At least not in any major city)

Review: July 14th, 2005 My wife and I stayed here for the All Star Game. We found the hotel to be well located, with an extremely pleasant and helpful staff. When you read this all of the road paving and landscaping that were being done in front of the hotel should be done. They were 98% done when we left. This is a great location, since it is walking distance of the baseball and football stadiums, Cobo center, and a short block away from the People Mover (the monorail that loops around downtown Detroit, and costs 50 cents to ride.) good location, and great staff.
