Identifying A Deer's Age by Hoof Size

• 3 to 3 1/2 inches- Fawn
• 4 inches- Yearling Doe
• 4 1/2 inches- Adult Does and Yearling Bucks
• 5 inches- 2 1/2 year old Bucks
• 5 1/2 to 6 inches- 3 1/2 to 6 1/2 year old Bucks
• Tracks measuring more than 5 1/2 inches in length are those of fully mature bucks in their prime.
